2018 Summer Fellow Milesa Davis will graduate from Notre Dame College in 2019. She will receive a Bachelor of Arts in Management Information Systems and a minor in Communication and Art. Milesa served at The Village at Marymount, a senior living facility in Garfield Heights.
Milesa, along with her worksite mentor, Sister Mary Alice Jarosz, TOSf, created a project that involves having residents reflect on their hands. As residents would share their story with her, Milesa would write their stories and photograph their hands. Milesa described this project as an opportunity to become really close to the resident and share the joy they experienced as she would listen intently to their story.
In addition to her fellowship at the Village of Marymount, she works part time at an assisted living facility in Cuyahoga Falls. She works with the Activities Staff, which gives her contact with residents helping them express their creativity.
She has opportunities during her time this summer have developed her writing skills. Working closely with her supervisor, she is curious about Fund Development as a career choice.
Milesa suggested that CCC explore ways for previous fellows (this year’s and last’s) to be active in the program for next year. We noted that many of this year’s class encouraged others to sign up for the program. Milesa would like the 2018 Summer Fellows to actively “recruit” students to apply for 2019 Summer Fellows positions. She also suggested a “Where are they now?” article be included in materials we hand on to the next class of Fellows noting how their summer experience influenced their career choices.
CCC wishes Milesa continued success!
