This summer, we are proud to present one of our Catholic Community Connection 2026 Summer Fellows, Greg Campbell, a senior at John Carroll University majoring in Marketing and Sports Leadership. Greg served as the Marketing Intern at the Catholic Cemeteries Association (CCA).
What initially drew him to the fellowship was the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a faith-based organization. “I was looking for a way to become more involved in my faith,” he shared. “Being able to help families through difficult moments while continuing to strengthen their relationship with Christ was something that really stood out to me.”
Throughout the fellowship, he gained hands-on experience in a variety of marketing projects. One of his primary responsibilities was managing marketing for the Catholic Cemeteries Association’s podcast “CCAirwaves.” He was in charge of creating graphics, social media content, and researching new ways to boost audience engagement. The podcast shares messages of hope, grief support, and reflections on faith, helping listeners navigate through difficult seasons of life while drawing closer to Christ.
In addition to the podcast, Greg became a regular contributor to the Catholic Cemeteries Association’s blog, “Faith, Hope & Remembrance”, writing reflection pieces that supported readers through grief while offering helpful ways to deepen their faith. He also assisted with CCA’s strategic marketing initiatives, event planning, and outreach campaigns, allowing him to develop skills in graphic design, content creation, and community engagement.
Greg mentioned one of the highlights of the summer was hosting his very first CCAirwaves podcast episode. “It was definitely a little nerve-racking at first, but once I got comfortable, it became such a rewarding experience,” he stated. He prepared the episode, wrote the script, and led the conversation that gave him greater confidence to share messages of faith with others.
His supervisor, Paige Muttillo, Marketing Manager at CCA, played an important role throughout his fellowship. “Paige was always available to answer questions, offer guidance, and encourage new ideas,” he said “She was invested and intentional in helping me grow professionally and in my faith.”
As he looks ahead, Greg hopes to carry both the professional skills and spiritual growth he experienced throughout the fellowship into every future opportunity. “Whether I’m working in a faith-based organization or somewhere completely different, I want to lead with faith, show God’s mercy, and care for others,” he reflected. “That’s something I’ll carry with me wherever my career takes me.”
