It is a pleasure to introduce you to Catholic Community Connection Summer Fellow Jenna Milano. Jenna is working in the Advancement Department of Catholic Charities in Downtown Cleveland.

Jenna is a rising senior at Notre Dame College majoring in Graphic Design with a minor in Marketing. She is involved on campus as the president of Women’s ID and this is her first internship.

Jenna was drawn to the Summer Fellows program because of the community aspect the fellowship provided with other local colleges, especially with students in similar stages of their education journey. She is most interested in working in marketing in the future, specifically in social media or digital marketing – so this fellowship position was a great fit!

As a fellow working in the Advancement Department, Jenna has helped make flyers and design social media posts for Catholic Charities utilizing her graphic design skills and interest in social media marketing. She has designed flyers and social media posts for a variety of organizations within Catholic Charities and especially enjoyed learning about and designing posts for Pathways Peer Support, which provides recovery-oriented groups and programming for adults 18 and older promoting positive relationships and coping skills.

When asked what she has most enjoyed about her fellowship, Jenna said the following: “I really enjoy having my own office space for the first time. I also enjoy meeting the people working in our office and learning from them and how we get to come together and create something for all of the other organizations of Cleveland Catholic Charities. I really enjoy doing something to help support others.”

She has greatly enjoyed working with her supervisor (Terrance Ray) who has provided her with advice and encouragement on the designs she has worked on, that he approves. “He’s been very helpful and will encourage me in understanding the concept for the posts.”
