Symposium
The Catholic Community Connection Symposium
This event brings together people to experience a theme-based program consisting of educational, spiritual, and professional development components. An inspiring keynote speaker, with structured and informal time, offers the opportunities for personal reflection, sharing with others, and networking. These theme-based gatherings strengthen Catholic Identity and the Social Teachings of the Church.
The 2022 Catholic Community Connection Symposium
“Church in the Field, serve the Lord with gladness” October 21, 2022
Catholic Community Connection will gather local ministry professionals, young adults, and students, for an inspiring event to learn about Catholic ministry, current challenges of the workforce, and to have an opportunity to renew their personal commitment to serve and network.
This year’s inter-generational program will be held at the Jerry-Sue Thornton Center. The Most Reverend Edward C. Malesic, Bishop of Cleveland, will be the keynote speaker. Highlights of the program will include a video featuring Catholic Charities Migration and Refugee Services, St. Vincent Charity Medical Center, a panel of the local Catholic colleges’ professionals, and the senior living ministries. A facilitated presentation by local college leaders will provide the topic for table discussions.
Attendees will participate in networking and reflect on their personal “call to serve,” to personally answer Pope Francis’ challenge to serve the needy, to be “a field hospital.”
In the event we are not able to present the program in person, the program will be presented virtually.
